At the third BMW Joytown festival in Bengaluru on January 28 and 29, 2023, the new generation of the X1 SUV will be introduced to the Indian market. The new X1 can be reserved through dealers for a token amount of Rs 50,000, which will go up to Rs 2 lakh once bookings are open to the public. The SUV should start to be shipped out in March 2023.
Portimo Blue Metallic, San Remo Green Metallic, Frozen Pure Grey Metallic, Blue Bay Lagoon Metallic, Cape York Green Metallic, Utah Orange Metallic, Space Silver Metallic, and Blue Bay Lagoon Metallic are some of the new colours. Additional Exterior paint colours are available.
Exteriors
The all-new BMW X1 looks more modern and daring than its predecessor. It also has a more upright profile, which helps it have more space. The new X1 keeps traditional design cues, such as the BMW kidney grille, but does so in a very modern way.
If you want your car to look more sporty, think about getting the M Sport package. In addition to the Adaptive M suspension, it has bi-color 18-inch alloy wheels, Shadowline exterior trim, and a body kit that makes the car more aerodynamic.
The X1 has gotten a little bit bigger for 2023, and it is now one of the bigger subcompact luxury SUVs. It is about the same size as the Audi Q3, but a bit smaller than the Mercedes-Benz GLA and Volvo XC40.
Interiors
On the inside, it has the same shape and layout as the car before the facelift. So, the buttons, screens, and even the steering wheel are mostly the same as they were in the car before the facelift.
The new X1 has an interior that looks like the 2 Series Active Tourer sold in other countries. The inside is much nicer than it used to be. It has a curved screen with a 10.7-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
When it comes to the back seat, the X1 is a nice car. There is enough space for your knees, and the front seats are set up so that your feet have enough room. The back seat can be leaned back manually.
The back seat can be split 40:20:40, which makes it a very useful piece of furniture. The trunk is a good size, with 550 litres of space that can be expanded to 1550 litres. There is also some storage space under the floor.
Behind the Wheel
The new X1 is built on BMW’s FAAR platform, which will also be used to build the next-generation Mini Countryman. Internationally, you can get the X1 with 48V mild-hybrid technology in two gasoline engines and two diesel engines.
A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will be paired with these engines. All-wheel drive can be added to the more powerful gasoline and diesel engines. The engines now meet BS6 standards, but they still make the same amount of power.
The X1 comes with a 2-liter gasoline engine that makes 189bhp and 280Nm, but the car being tested here is a diesel with 187bhp and 400Nm. To do this, the diesel also has an AdBlue tank.
