For a while, rumours that Toyota was developing a brand-new Innova model circulated online. Toyota has also confirmed those rumours by teasing the debut of the brand-new Innova Hycross, which is what the updated Innova will be called. According to reports, the new Innova Hycross is a major improvement over the current-generation Innova Crysta in a number of aspects, making it a more technologically sophisticated device.
This month Toyota Innova Hycross is going to make its world debut.
The Toyota Innova of the future won’t just have a sunroof—it’ll have a massive panoramic one! It reaches all the way up to the car’s C-pillar from the windscreen. This function will be welcomed by many Indians.
Toyota intends to only offer a powerful hybrid powertrain and a naturally aspirated motor with the Hycross, so a diesel engine option won’t be available. Pricing is anticipated to rise above Rs. 35 lakhs (on-road Mumbai), with the powerful hybrid variants, possibly reaching Rs. 40 lakhs.
Later this month, on November 25, the new MPV will be unveiled for the Indian market. A price announcement is anticipated at the 2023 Auto Expo.
The following information regarding the future Toyota Innova Hycross is what we currently know:
ADAS
The new Innova Hycross will be the first Toyota product to have Advanced Driver-Aid Features in India (ADAS). The driver will benefit from features like adaptive cruise control, auto-levelling headlights, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, lane departure alert, and more under these features.
Panoramic Sunroof
A wide rectangular hole can be seen on the roof of the Toyota Innova Hycross’ monocoque structure in a spy photo, which suggests that the new MPV will have a large panoramic sunroof. As a result, the Hycross will be the first Innova vehicle to ever have a panoramic sunroof.
Strong Hybrid
The Toyota Vellfire holds the distinction of being the first strong-hybrid MPV in the Indian auto market, not the new Toyota Innova Hycross. In comparison to the Vellfire, the Hycross will be positioned much lower. With a dramatic switch from a diesel engine to a potent petrol-hybrid powertrain, the MPV will achieve excellent fuel efficiency with the Innova Hycross. A 2.0-litre gasoline engine, which will be larger and more potent than the 1.5-litre Atkinson gasoline engine used in the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, will be a part of this powertrain. Fuel economy from the powerful hybrid engine combination is projected to be on the level with or better than the diesel Innova.
Monocoque frame
Additionally, the new Toyota Innova Hycross will mark the first time that an Innova has ever been built on a monocoque frame. The ladder-on-frame architecture of the first-generation Innova and the currently on-the-market Innova Crysta is drastically different from this one. The Innova Hycross’ driving characteristics will be improved over the previous two generations of the Innova thanks to a monocoque frame.
All-LED illumination
Presently, daytime-running LEDs and projector headlamps with LEDs are options for the Toyota Innova Crysta. But the official teaser image issued by Toyota reveals that the Innova Hycross will gain updated daytime running LEDs and all-LED headlamps. Instead of being all-halogen like the Innova Crysta, the tail lamps will also include LED inserts.
Front-Wheel-drive
The new Toyota Innova Hycross will have front-wheel drive instead of rear-wheel drive like the previous two generations of the Innova, which are the most monocoque frame-based vehicles in India. Here, power will only be sent to the front wheels through the powertrain, improving fuel economy.
